A new smartphone application can help California residents stay up to date with the area’s healthiest beaches. Orange County Coastkeeper frequently updates basic information for the area’s beaches and employs the use of water quality data from the Ocean Water Protection Program.
“Compared to about 10 years ago when we were experiencing a lot of beach closures, our beaches are doing pretty well,” Crouch said. “This is attributed to better storm-water management by the Orange County cities.
Swim Guide shares the best information we have at the moment you ask for it. Always obey signs at the beach or advisories from official government agencies.
