On July 10th, 2013 Charleston Waterkeeper completed their first official sample run under the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) approved Quality Assurance Project Plan (QAPP).
The focus of their QAPP is to let the public know the “swimmability” of several tidal creeks and hotspots for swimming, kayaking, SUPing, and sailing.
Charleston Waterkeeper is not alone in its desire to get high quality data to the public in an easy to understand manner. Today, Alabama Water Watch became an official Swim Guide Affiliate. They accomplish their mission to improve water quality and water policy by training and certifying individuals to monitor their local waterways and how to use their data to protect and restore them.
We consider ourselves incredibly lucky to partner with organizations like the Charleston Waterkeeper and Alabama Water Watch in order to provide you with access to the best information available.
