Satilla Riverkeeper
As the self-described “eyes and ears” of the Satilla River watershed, Satilla Riverkeeper is a passionate, engaged community group that is protecting their beautiful watershed in Southeastern Georgia. The river, which is enjoyed year round for hunting, fishing, recreational water activities and more, is threatened by rapid population growth around the basin. Since 2000, the Riverkeeper has worked to put pressure on waste generators within the watershed to slow and reverse their habits. Through restoration, remediation, invasive species mitigation, and education, the Satilla Riverkeeper is an active and powerful voice for water stewardship.
