Little Magothy is sampled weekly from May 25th to August 31st.

Anne Arundel Community College Environmental Center interns monitor water quality at sites in this region. The Back Creek Conservancy sponsors testing at two sites along the Creek. The Conservancy envisions a fishable, swimmable Back Creek supported by a citizen-led non-profit group that speaks for the Creek.Sampling season starts Memorial Day Weekend and ends Labor Day Weekend. Water at all sites is sampled for enterococci at all sites.

AACC utilizes the standardized state and federal criteria of of 104 cfu/100 ml for collecting and analyzing water samples. Enumeration of microorganisms associated with poor microbial water quality is performed at the Environmental Center.

Water samples are collected weekly, on Wednesdays. Some sites are tested bi-weekly. Results are posted as soon as lab results are available. Results will be communicated through the swim guide app and results tables will be put on AACC’s website.

A beach is marked Green when single sample results are under 104 enterococci/ 100 ML water.

A beach is marked Red when the results are equal to or above 104 enterococci/ 100 ML water.

A beach is marked Grey when there are no current results or there is no available information.
