It is built in the bay of Pagasitikos, at the foot of Mount Pelion, combining the common features from the territorial morphology and the natural characteristics of the villages of Pelion.
Particularly, when referring to the flora of Pelion, an important place occupies the healing plants of chamomile, hedgehog, atropos, euthythmia etc. The fauna includes various species of mammals (jackals, foxes, wild boars, horses), insects, amphibians, small rodents and reptiles. While in riparian areas, like Agria, we find plane trees and willows
At low altitudes, there are various fruit trees, such as apple trees, cherries and pear trees, while human crops include, among others, vineyards, olive groves and kiwi trees.

The section of Mount Pelion has been included in the National Catalog of the "NATURA 2000" Network with reference to the sections of the Municipalities of Portaria, Agria, Artemida, Milies, Karla, Makrinitsa and the entire Municipality of Zagora and Mouresi.
The quality and importance of the area of Pelion is determined by ecological, economic, historical and aesthetic aspects. Its ecological value lies in the diversity of biotopes with good to excellent structure, combining the dense forest vegetation - rays and riparian forests - with the developed vegetation concentrated in the coastal and marine biotopes of the Aegean
