Ilha do Farol-Mar

Praia do Farol ("Farol-Mar") is situated on the island of Culatra, municipality of Faro and should be its name from the fact that it be located the lighthouse of Cape St. st. Mary.
Access to Praia do Farol is only by boat. There are links from Olhão, throughout the year and from Faro, from Cais da Porta Nova (Portas do Mar).
During this transport, about 40 minutes, you can appreciate the beauty of the Ria Formosa and the diverse wildlife that inhabits this area protected.
Despite its urban settlement and tourism, this beach has a long sandy beach that, to the east, is becoming gradually more quiet.
This beach has a first aid station, and three support beach facilities. The lifeguard service is provided on two posts at the beach.
