About Praia do Peró

Peró beach is located in the municipality of Cabo Frio in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro. The beach is located west of the center of Cabo Frio, along the Dunes of Peró, which has a rich ecosystem with endemic species, and next to the Serra das Emerências, where there is the largest niche of Brazil wood from the State of Rio. The beach is an integral part of the Pau-Brasil Environmental Protection Area. Of its 7 kilometers of extension, only less than 1 km is urbanized (this part is the candidate zone Blue Flag, being the rest preserved with vegetation of restinga.
