Riverfront Regional Park

Located adjacent to the Russian River, Riverfront Regional Park is just minutes west of downtown Windsor. The main attractions in the park are two former gravel pits which have been reclaimed as lakes offering bass fishing. No swimming is allowed in the lakes. Amenities include two day-use picnic areas, a two-mile multiuse trail around Lake Benoist and a half mile long trail over Redwood Hill. Dogs are allowed on 6’ leash. The park is open daily. Most Sonoma County Regional parks open at 8:00 a.m. and close at sunset.$6.00 per vehicle for day use. Special rates apply to buses or trucks carrying more than 9 people.For additional information, or to reserve group picnic area , call (707) 565-2041.

The Sonoma County Department of Health Services, in cooperation with the North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board and the Sonoma County Water Agency, monitors bacterial levels in the water at beaches on the Russian River, and also monitors Spring Lake Lagoon in cooperation with the Sonoma County Regional Parks Department.

Sampling is conducted once a week each summer between Memorial Day and Labor Day. For current postings, call the Beach Sampling Hotline at (707) 565-6552
