Forestville River Access

Forestville River Access provides access to the Russian River, just off River Road, via a parking area and a short trail leading to a scenic beach. Known by local's as Mom's Beach, the rocky shore here offers a lovely view of surrounding redwood forest.

This is a great spot to sunbath and watch summer paddlers heading down river. (Lifeguards are not on duty.)

The small parking area fills quickly in summer months. Alcohol is not allowed in the parking area or on the beach.

The Sonoma County Department of Health Services, in cooperation with the North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board and the Sonoma County Water Agency, monitors bacterial levels in the water at beaches on the Russian River, and also monitors Spring Lake Lagoon in cooperation with the Sonoma County Regional Parks Department.

Sampling is conducted once a week each summer between Memorial Day and Labor Day. For current postings, call the Beach Sampling Hotline at (707) 565-6552
