New Castle Beach is located just north of Great Island Common in New Castle, a town in Rockingham County. Past visitors to this beach have reported that the beach is rocky and the water is cooler here than at other beaches.

This location is monitored twice a week from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Water samples are collected several times a week throughout the swimming season. When advisories are issued, they are posted on the DES website and on its beach advisory Twitter feed (@NHDES_Beaches).

Swim Guide checks for the latest information daily during the monitoring season.

A beach is marked Green when it meets water quality standards.

A freshwater beach is marked Red when two consecutive samples exceed 88 counts of E. coli per 100ml or when the geometric mean of at least three samples collected in a 60-day period exceeds 47 counts of E. coli per 100ml of water.

A marine beach is marked Red when two consecutive samples exceed 104 counts of Enterococci per 100ml or when the geometric mean of at least three samples collected in a 60-day period exceeds 35 counts of Enterococci per 100ml of water.

A beach is marked Grey when current or reliable information is unavailable.
