On the southeast shores of Lake Michigan, this public beach stretches approximately one mile long, and surely gets its name from the tree-covered dunes nearby. Nestled within a residential community of approximately 200 homes, the beach is visited by both permanent residents and visitors from nearby Chicago, who make the trek to the shore on weekends and during summer months. Water quality is tested 3 times per week.
