Barn Marsh Island

Barn Marsh Island Beach is a 6 km sandy beach which is accessible from a set of stairs at the Cape Enrage Lighthouse. The beach extends below a 40m cliff line along the Chignecto Bay and at low tides, this sandy beach may extend out 200m. The low tide will uncover many fossils which date back to 320 million years ago. Many people will swim at the beach; however, it is unsupervised and there may be extreme currents. Visitors will not be able to walk the beach between 2 hours before high tide til 2 hour after high tide, as it is considered unsafe. It is always best to check the safest times before going to the beach with the Cape Enrage staff.
Cape Enrage Adventures offers a variety of fun activities such as: ziplining, rapelling, rock climbing, and many more group activities. These are all done by reservation only.
