Ammolofoi

The  environment of the wider region of Ammolofi  beach, that has meridian orientation, appears to be quite interesting from different points of view (ecological, geological-land, tourist,  archaeological – historical etc) and is distinguished for the particular picturesqueness, the uniqueness and the inalterable shaped landscape, and finally the impressive environment that its shape includes. This landscape presents impressive alternations between sand dunes of various size and form, endless beaches with thin sand, clusters of rocky coasts, creeks and small impetuses, small peninsulas, cultivated extents of vineyard and olive trees and natural elevations covered with vegetation. This picture relatively harmoniously includes a few constructions of seasonal residence and small chapels. The existing vegetation is important and excluding the cultures and the planting in the properties, presents a particular interest for the low flowers, plants and bushes that grow on the dunes and which require protection and care. The fauna of the area is also interesting and includes a variety of fishes, birds, reptiles and incisions and contributes in the balance of the ecosystem. The sea which is usually very calm in the summer time   has a transparent - crystal clear water. For these reasons it is suggested for swimming, sea-sports and fishing. The local sea breeze that occurs often in the region, contributes in the natural cooling of the whole area.
