About Memória
It was here that D. Peter landed in 1832 with an army of 7500 men to defeat his brother, D. Miguel. In honor of this victory, the Obelisk of Memória was built here and was a tribute to this monument that the beach got its name. Also known as the Thieves or Sandy Beach, features a long sandy beach that allows sports. Its dunes are the Dunas Park Beach Memory, and are well preserved. The beach has a unique and protected from external aggressions dune landscape. This is a landmark destination with regard to bathing season.
