Calheta

The beach area of Calheta Beach it is located at Av. D. Manuel I, Municipality of Calheta, in the west of Madeira, about a 30 minutes drive from Funchal.
It consists of two artificial coves separated from each other by a mouth of access to the Atlantic Ocean. On the East side, the beach is located next to Hotel Calheta Beach and on the West side, it is located next to Praceta 24 de Junho.
The beach has support structures that include changing rooms, sanitary facilities, including for individuals with reduced mobility, first aid station, bars, restaurants and parking.
It is an excellent choice for those who are looking for the sun and the sea to enjoy a lively and relaxing beach day under the sun that rises and shine in Calheta, in the summer season.
At weekends this beach is usually very popular
(after all it is one of the few sandy beaches on the island) and if you prefer more privacy,
we recommend that you visit it during the week.
