About Fort Niagara State Park
Fort Niagara State Park is a New York State park that is located along the Lower Niagara River and Lake Ontario. The park’s main attraction is Old Fort Niagara, which is a National Historic Landmark and an integral part in the struggles of France, Great Britain, and the United States to control the Great Lakes Region. The original fort was built in 1726, and it has since been a major site at the entrance to the Niagara River. Within Fort Niagara State Park swimming is only allowed in the public swimming pool. There are 2 boat docks that provide access to the water.
