The beach of Nea Anchialos is located in the south of Volos and at a distance of 19km and has become a popular summer resort.
The beach is awarded the Blue Flag, the most recognizable international eco-label for coastlines.
The beach of Nea Anhialos is the coastal part of an open bay 4 km long along the city of Nea Anchialos with reddish sand and crystal clear waters. The coastal zone is natural, while its vegetation is mostly tamarisks.
Thanks to the beauty, the magnificent scenery and the charm of nature that harmoniously coexist with the cosmopolitan life, but mainly thanks to the clean environment and the hospitality of the locals, Nea Anchialos is considered one of the best tourist destinations in the area.
Two small hills rise west/northwest from the town of Nea Anchialos giving the city its amphitheatrical position with views over the blue waters of the Pagasiticos Bay.
The vegetation of the surrounding area is mainly pine trees, olive trees, vineyards, almond trees and crops. It is surrounded by picturesque hillsides and lacy coasts stretching over a 20km radius.
The beach of Nea Anchialos is constantly rewarded with the Blue Flag and is fully organized with facilities such as sunbeds, umbrellas, cabins, WC, WC for people with disabilities, showers, waste and recycling baskets and lifeguards; it is a favorite spot for mooring small boats and enjoying amateur fishing at the harbor at the beginning of the town.
On the coast of Nea Anchialos there are beach volleyball facilities and a football stadium, refreshment bars and restaurants.
On the beach of Nea Anchialos there are many restaurants, cafes, restaurants and fish taverns, while the visitor has the opportunity to find a variety of tourist accommodation such as hotels and rooms to let.
The tourist organization of Nea Anchialos is at a high point; during the summer season, recreational events for locals and tourists are organized, one of which the Wine Festival at the end of the summer and the Balkan Traditional Dances Festival in August.
Among the area's attractions, the tourist can admire the archaeological finds of two towns, Pyrasos and Fthiotides Thives, which flourished in the area where the present town of Nea Anchialos spreads out.
