About Anjos
Anjos are located on the north coast of the island of Santa Maria, part of the parish of Vila do Porto. Presents a landscape of low hills of volcanic rock. This place is the oldest shrine of the Azores archipelago, famous for the landing of Cristovão Colombo, on the return journey after the discovery of America. In honor of this event, was erected in place of Anjos, a statue of Cristovão Colombo.
The coast is rocky and there is numerous fishing along the bay.
The bathing area consists of two natural water pools, one being smaller, geared mainly for children. In the surrounding area are located the solariums and beach infrastructure support.
On a clear day it is possible to spot the neighboring island of Sao Miguel.
