À propos de Praia do Sossego
In 1991, Praia do Sossego was provisionally listed as protected by Municipal Decree No. 6,106; later, elevated to the category of Natural Monument. Currently, this region is legally inserted in the Municipal Natural Park of Niterói (Municipal Decree n°11,744/2014), characterizing itself as one of the main attractions of the Coastal/Lagunar Sector of this Protected Area.
The beach is protected by a chain of mountains, constituting a small green amphitheater, hidden by the rocky shores that shelter it. This corner also guards the last remnants of the flora of the municipality's restinga, in addition to containing mussel beds and having a significant diversity of fauna and flora.
The beach is located in the Oceanic Region of Niterói, in the neighborhood of Camboinhas, between Piratininga and Camboinhas beaches.
Access to the beach is through the Camboinhas district.
