About Island Beach
Formerly known as Little Captain Island, Island Beach is one of three islands off the coast of Greenwich in Long Island Sound. Visitors can access the beach and island via private boat or use the ferry service from the landing at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park in Greenwich.
Once on the island, you will find a 1000-foot sandy beach. There are designated swimming and boating areas and lifeguards are on duty during the summer swimming season (Memorial Day to Labor Day). In addition to the beach, there is also a picnic area and snack bar. Changerooms and restrooms are also available.
