Swim Guide, a website and free Android app that gives real-time updates of the water quality along the lake looks to be a strong move in the right direction. “This is the coolest thing we’ve ever done,” says Mattson, a 49-year-old ex-criminal lawyer who’s been the head of Waterkeepers for the past 10 years, as he shows off the app. “Hopefully, people will see all our beaches, visit them and fall in love with them again.”

New iPhone app update(s)
July 5, 2011

If you’re still using Version 1.0 of Swim Guide for iPhone®, it’s time to upgrade! We’ve made two updates to Swim Guide since its first release. Both updates improve the way the app locates you and your closest beaches. The update also gives you way more information about beach law and policy. Look under “Learn” to read about how E. coli monitoring works around the Great Lakes (USA & Canada) and in British Columbia. If you like the app, please give us a generous rating in the App Store® – it helps to spread the word!! Download the free update(s) from the App Store on your computer or through your iPhone.
