Vilamoura

Vilamoura beach is between the east entrance to the marina and the fishermen’s port in Quarteira and is part of one of the largest tourist resorts and developments in Europe. Associated with an urban-tourist front with intensive use, it offers excellent conditions with regards to accessibility and mobility for all (ramps, and accesses level with the beach area, shades and assisted baths, amongst others). The tourist offer of quality is characterized by the excellence of the equipment and services, m\namely, bars, restaurants with esplanades, beach reception, medical post, sanitary installations and showers, ample parking space, and an ordered area for bathing and lifeguards.

Also distinguished with the Blue Flag award, Vilamoura Marina offers a complete variety of nautical activities and sports (cruises, boat trips, regattas, sailing, jet-ski, scuba diving, etc.) as well as sophisticated surroundings with lodgings, esplanades and shops. In the dominion of historic patrimony, Vilamoura is also a reference with it’s Museum and Archaeological station of Cerro da Villa where it is possible to do an imaginary tour through a I st century roman city.
Vilamoura is also noted for its environmental and ecological qualities, by which a visit to the Parque Ambiental is recommend, and more than 100 species of birds can be observed amongst the dense fields of reeds of this humid area.
