Surrounded by high mountains, densely forested with maritime pine and strawberry trees, the Castelo de Bode dam features a vast water basin. In order to take advantage of this bathing area and due to the dam's accentuated depth, a floating swimming pool was installed on the left bank of the river Zêzere. This infrastructure has different spaces for children and adults and easy access from Vila de Rei. To make the place even more pleasant, a snack bar is open to the public, open daily from morning to night, where they serve meals throughout the summer. New WCs were also installed next to the existing showers and the security of the pool is guaranteed by the guard, who remains there throughout the bathing season. The freshness of the shadows coming from the pine trees offers visitors the opportunity to rest or even go camping. The width of the reservoir also allows the use of boats and personal watercraft, in addition to fishing. Canoes, kayaks, sailing catamarans, water skis or wakeboards with a boat equipped with skis, board and skipper can be rented on site. For groups and families, there are several programs from tours, climbing, archery, etc.The Ancoradouro da Praia Fluvial de Fernandaires is already completed and ready to receive boats, intended for leisure and maritime-tourist boats.
