About Almadena - Cabanas Velha
The Beach of Almádena, or Cabanas Velhas Beach is a beach in the village of Budens, in the municipality of Vila do Bispo, Algarve, Portugal. It is the east side of the Fort of São Luís de Almádena, between the mouth of the River Beach and Praia do Burgau. It is of small size and narrow at high tide. Surrounded by limestone cliffs very eroded and cut where there are numerous recesses and cavities resulting from the slipping of the strata that make up the rock.
There are peculiar formations at both ends of the beach. The slopes along the beach are covered by matos Netherlands, and there is an area of pine forest in the western slope. The beach is little frequented by bathers, being the pontoon the source very used as a place to fish
