Fuente de los Baños

The Fuente de los Baños is one of the most popular natural pools in the province of Castellón and the main attraction for rural tourism in the town of Montanejos. One of the rural areas that has become a perfect option for a getaway that allows us to escape the heat of the Valencian summer. It is a spring with crystalline waters with medicinal properties (700 mg/l sulphate-magnesium bicarbonate-magnesium mixed with oligometallic water of medium mineralisation), located in a beautiful natural setting, nestled between large limestone walls. It is one of those perfect natural spots, one of those bathing areas located in an ideal environment to enjoy a nature and open air getaway. Next to it we find the popular fountain of the seven spouts, which give the place its name and mention the legend of King Abu Zayd. You will see that, at the top, there are two images. They correspond to the Virgen de los Desamparados and the Virgen del Lledó. It is thought that it could be a tribute to Abú Zayd, as in 1236 he converted to Christianity and was baptised as Vicente Bellvís.
