Salinas Beach, measuring 2,100 meters in length and 110 meters in variable width, is a natural environment with golden sand, a macrotidal regime (>4 m), and moderate waves. Its water renews in less than seven days, with a predominant current towards the west-northwest and an average wind speed of 5.24 m/s. With high occupancy and an urban setting, its quality is influenced by activity in the town of Salinas and the nearby city of Avilés. It is part of the ZEC-ZEPA Cabo Busto – Luanco, within the Avilés Costa water mass (160006), with established sampling points.
