Marina Badalona

Badalona Port is the latest new-build port in Catalonia (it came into service in 2005. It has competitive facilities surrounded by the city of Badalona, with is long seafaring tradition (cradle ot the patí de vela, a base for traditional fishing and the driving force behind the recovery of the classic boat Ciutat Badalona. The place chosen to site the port was no coincidence. Its construction has been the driving force for regenerating a disuded and badly deteriorated industrial area wich has been transformed, recovering five kilometres of seafront. The port and beaches of Badalona are becoming an increasingly attractive natural and leisure area after the miltiple investments devoted to the recovery and environmental improvement of the large site that has been turned into a sizeable, modern port facility. The port offers 630 marina moorings for boats of up to 30 metres in length. It has a technical area of 7,000m2 with an esplanade of 4,000m2, a 75 mt travelift and a 10mt crane. To the quality of the facilities can be added Badalona's good connections and central location. The port was built and is managed by Marina Badalona, SA, a public company formed by Badalona City Vouncil and Barcelonès County Council, across a public concession.
