Ghajn Tuffieha Bay is a twin beach to Golden Bay. It is walking distance away separated only by a headland. Unlike Golden Bay, Ghajn Tuffieha is a secluded beach and accessed only through a long flight of steps or a network of footpaths, winding along the clay slopes. Another headland to the west side of the bay separates this beach from Gnejna Bay. All the area is a Special Area of Conservation (SAC) due to unique geological features. Although somehow isolated, the beach has most amenities including a parking area on street level. Ghajn tuffieha Bay is managed by the NGO, GAIA Foundation. Beach management includes the services of a lifeguard and safety ropes affixed along the bay. In 2011 the beach was awarded a Beach of Quality award since it made 70% ofthe Blue Flag Criteria by Blue Flag Malta
