Alice Lake Park Beach - Central Beach is sampled Bi-Weekly from May 1st to September 1st
Sea to Sky Park Services, in partnership with Vancouver Coastal Health, monitor the water quality at Alice Lake. In 2023, this beach was tested bi-weekly for the first time in 3 years. This will continue in 2024. There is some historic data from Vancouver Coastal Health found here: https://www.healthspace.ca/vch VCH follows the Canadian Recreational Water Guidelines. Recreational water is considered safe if the geometric mean result is under 200 E.coli/100mL. Should the geometric mean exceed 200 E.coli/100 mL, a Medical Health Officer would make an assessment of the risk to human health. If there is a risk to human health, a warning sign will be posted at the beach stating “This Water is Contaminated and Unsafe for Swimming.”
