Ledge Light Health District monitors water quality at beaches in this region from mid-May to mid-September. Water samples are collected at weekly from different bathing areas. Advisories are posted to the health district website. Swim Guide checks the advisories daily, during the monitoring season. A beach is marked Green when bacteria counts are below 104 units / 100ml of marine water or 235 / 100ml of fresh water, A beach is marked Red when two consecutive samples exceed 104 bacteria units / 100ml of marine water or 235 / 100ml of fresh water A beach is marked Grey when there is no recent or reliable information available.
