Playa Santa Maria was first awarded Blue Flag status in 2014 and is a Blue Flag beach for the 2023 season.*
Playa Santa María is a small pebble and sand beach located along Federal Highway 1 between Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo. The beach is protected by rock formations which makes the wave action relatively mild and ideal for snorkelling and swimming. The beach is wheelchair accessible with a handicap walkway and designated handicap cabana. There is a parking lot about 300 metres north of the beach as well as lifeguards, and a few permanent umbrellas for shade.
*A Blue Flag beach is one that meets strict water quality and safety criteria. These beaches are certified annually as being clean, accessible, eco-friendly, and having great water quality!
