Shediac Bay Yacht Club

Shediac Bay Yacht Club Ltd. was first incorporated in 1933. They became a not-for-profit organization and member-owned Yacht Club in 2011. SBYC is located in the coastal town of Shediac, situated in south-east New Brunswick, Canada on the west coast of the Northumberland Strait, between New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. The Yacht Club operates a 175 full-service Marina facility that can accommodate sail and powerboats up to 16.5 m (54') LOA. We offer a friendly and bilingual service. (English and French) SBYC also operates a Sailing School, promotes racing, organizes cruises and social events. The facility opens in May on the Friday before Victoria Day and closes on the Friday before Thanksgiving Day in October. We offer 7 transient berths for visitors. SBYC is less than a kilometre walking distance of downtown Shediac, hotels, restaurants, pharmacies, hardware stores, shopping, recreational, cultural events and festivals throughout the summer. We are also located only minutes away from Parlee Beach and 20 minutes east of the Greater Moncton area. In summer, prevailing South West winds are warm and moderate. Our tides are mixed semi-diurnal - two high, two low per day, range to 1 m (3') with an average of 0.67 m (2'). Currents are generally weak on the Strait, with local exceptions.
