À propos de Ribeira de Ilhas
Lying between high cliffs that work as a natural balcony, Ribeira d’Ilhas is the northernmost beach in the Ericeira Parish located 3,5 kilometres from the town’s centre.
It is famous for being stage to world championship surf competitions, it is the sports’ true Portuguese “cathedral”, being one of the best European beaches for the practice of this sport, and was publicly recognized and dedicated as a "World Surfing Reserve", along with other beaches in the municipality of Mafra.
To reinforce the sports and tourism potential of this beach, in compliance with its environmental traits, the Municipality made a redevelopment project, transforming it into an authentic theme beach, enhanced with most modern infrastructures.
A few meters from the beach is the Ericeira Camping that offers camping and caravanning services.
Guarded beach with lifeguard and beach SOS system.
