The Fraga da Pegada Beach, at Azibo Dam, is located on the Nordeast of Portugal. You can see the exact location and features at www.azibo.org. Since 2004, it has been awarded with a Blue Flag every year, what is a unique case among european river beaches. It has been recognized as a Praia Acessível (Accessible beach) for disabled people. It has playground and the opportunity to take lessons in canoeing. The beach is fine sand and stony at the edge of water. Water usually above 24 º C at the surface. It has a large lawn that can be used as a solarium. Park is next to the beach! Work all mobile phone networks. It is a very competitive place especially on weekends in July and August. Beautiful to walk in the other months. There are two bars, wich one open all year.
