Ancão is sampled Other from June 1st to September 30th
Ancão beach is situated on the extreme west end of the Ria Formosa Natural Park. It is the most isolated beach of the municipality; it has an ample beach area with many sites ideal for more privacy. This beach is surrounded by an extensive cordon of sand dunes associated with humid areas with marsh characteristics, to the east. Behind there are the woods of pines that crowns the low, ruby-colored, cliffs where you can frequently see rabbits and the blue magpies. The tranquility and richness of fauna and flora are also inviting for long, relaxing walks.
The beach has a lifeguard and concession, shades may be rented and there are also non-motorized nautical sports. The beach support is offered in the form of well-integrated bars and restaurants and complementary services. The four accesses to the beach are via wooden walkways that simultaneously serve the afore-mentioned infrastructures.
Note: Walk only on the provided walkways so that you may also contribute towards the preservation of the dunes.
