A GUARDIA BEACH. Its beach is almost a kilometre long and is a peaceful spot surrounded by fields. Panoramic views from the rock. Artificial reefs. Interesting underwater life. Nearby rural paths. Birds. Ideal for walking, playing or just relaxing. Greyish sand and shingle areas. Accessibility: by car to the parking area next to the sugar cane refinery or to La Guardia district. Facilities: showers, cloakroom, foot bridge, civil defence, tourist information, hammocks and boat hire during the summer. Grab a book and settle down to a day of sunbathing and, regardless of the time of year, you can be sure to find a bar in which to savour freshly-caught fish and an appetising mango and avocado salad.
How to get to
Take main street to Salobrena beach called Avenida de Andalucia. Passed Public Fuente Park turn right on roundabout. Get to parking area and walk to seafront.
Leave coastal road 340 and exit La Caleta. Follow local road downhill. Passed 500 metres old sugar refinery, take concrete road to La Guardia area. Parking place facility.
