Newburgh Launch Ramp

This area is heavily used for boating, kayaking and jet skiis, with team rowing and fishing in the vicinity. Next to the ramp is a combined sewer overflow (CSO) and a few hundred yards south is a sewage treatment plant outfall. Hudson Riverkeeper has sampled at this location since 2008 from May through October. Monthly testing is not frequent enough to make a safe swimming determination. Riverkeeper is advocating for high frequency testing and data reporting along the Hudson River wherever the public swims, boats and fishes.
