About Great Captain's Island
Great Captain's Island is the largest of a group of three islands off the coast of Greenwich. The west side of the island features a peaceful beach and picnic area that can be accessed during the summer months via ferry from the Arch Street Dock in Greenwich. The island also has a natural area and managed conservation area. Visitors to the island will find the 19th- century Great Captain Island Lighthouse.
From May 1st to October 31st, visitors must have a beach/park pass. Lifeguards are on duty during the day from Memorial Day weekend until Labor Day weekend.
