The organization is run by a group of volunteers and board members, who work with the provincial government to maintain the health of the Lesser Slave Watershed. Three Water for Life goals form the basis for their work in the watershed: safe, secure drinking water; healthy aquatic ecosystems; and reliable, quality water supplies for a sustainable future.

The organizations’ Vision is “The Lesser Slave Watershed, including its lake and rivers, is a bond that brings communities together, is a part of each citizen’s life, is a prime asset and renewable resource, and is a generator of economic development.”
