Pedrogão Centro

The beach of Pedrógão, the only one in Leiria’s Municipality, is known by its iodine sea, of fresh and salty foam, which bathes a wide extension of golden sand, among dunes and pine tree forests.
From past days, the tradition of the Arte Xávega remains, with the colourful and sharpened steam boats that go along the waves to launch the fishing nets and do the fishing work.
This beach, which has been awarded the “Accessible Beach” flag, reveals excellent conditions for surfing, considering that this is an open beach, easily exposed to the different types of waves, allowing the formation of several beach breaks.
