Situated in central urban area of the city, you can reach the beach through a tunnel that was dug up trough rock and joins Rua 5 de Outubro. From the top of the cliff, you can walk down to the beach using the masonry stairs that exist from Dr. Frutuoso da Silva Esplanade. The beach is around 1 km long and is interrupted by a cliff that divides it from Fishermen’s beach.
