About Playamonte
Playamonte Lake (Navarres)
In the area of Las Fuentes, three kilometers from Navarrés, is the Playamonte lake: a natural water lake, due to its characteristics of fine sand, it reminds us of a maritime beach. For this reason, it has recently been classified as a continental beach, for tourism purposes (2018). It is a lagoon fed by several springs, such as the Fuentes del Pescao, Fuente Loca, Fuente Negra and Fuente de los Pastores. The area is surrounded by pine forests and offers all the services for family tourism: swimming and picnic area, rural houses, cafeteria and children's playground.
The origin of the lake dates back to the 1970s, when the waters of a nearby spring were channeled. At that time it already had its characteristic beach sand that gives it its name. Here, then, sand, water and mountains converge. An emblematic place for the residents of the Canal and the rest of Valencia.
