About Arnao (Castrillón)
Arnao Beach, measuring 300 meters in length and 25 meters in variable width, is a natural environment with boulders and golden sand. It has a macrotidal regime (>4 m), moderate to strong waves, and water renewal in less than seven days. The beach has high occupancy and medium urbanization. Close to the town of Arnao, it is influenced by urban activity and has an outfall on its western side. Although there is nearby industrial presence, the currents minimize its impact. It is part of the ZEC-ZEPA Cabo Busto – Luanco, within the Avilés Costa water mass (160006), with an average wind speed of 5.24 m/s.
