Savage Beach. Near natural sites: The Formentor peninsula belongs to a great coast area declared as a Special Protection Area for birds (ZEPA). Beach location: In the northeast of Mallorca Island. It belongs at the same time to the Northern slopes of Formentor peninsule. How to get to the beach: Start out from calle Mar. stay straight on this street, pass the junction of calle Formentor, until you reach the roundabout of carretera Ma-10 (Vall de Son March) and Ma-2200 (Pollença-Port de Pollença). Take the second exit of the roundabout to go onto Ma-2200. continue on this road until the junction of Ma-1103 (Pollença-Cala Sant Vicenç), where you have to turn left to go onto this road. Stay straight until the first junction with avenida Cavall Bernat and calle Torrent and the access to Cala Sant Vicenç. Follow calle Cavall Bernat until the end, where you have to turn right onto calle Cala Clara. Here you can look for parking and reach the beach. On the last part you have to go down the steps which are not adapted for disabled persons. Environmental education and other facilities: There is no environmental services at Formentor beach due to its natural character but information about the natural features of the area can be found on posters placed at the beach. More information about protected areas or natural paths can be given at the Tourist Information Offices of Pollença Down Town.
