About Praia de Quatro Ilhas
The beach of Quatro Ilhas has little more than 1km of extension, being that next to the left side the sea is more tranquil, suitable for activities like snorkeling and stand up paddle. The right side presents waves propitious for surfing and dense vegetation. It has walkways that give access to the beach, passing over vegetated dunes. There are campsites, restaurants, inns, bars, kiosks and bathrooms. It is known by the older residents as Praia de Fora, due to its location and characteristic of open sea. The name Quatro Ilhas is due to the four islands seen from the beach. One of them, the Macuco Island, near the mainland. The other three, Welsh Island, Deserta and Arvoredo, are the ones that make up the Arvoredo Marine Biological Reserve.
