The beach is a 1200 foot sandy beach on the Atlantic Ocean that welcomes swimming, sunbathing and castle building! A heritage trail passes through the park for biking enthusiasts (helmets required per state law). This is a full facility 28 site campground that includes RVs and tents. Pets are welcome, but must be leashed or confined. Shallow waters encourage kayaking and canoeing along the Atlantic Ocean shoreline and through mangrove creeks. Kayaks may be rented on site. There is a 1.5 mile nature hiking trail, playground within the picnic area and restroom facilities with hot showers. Designated areas are available for swimming and snorkeling. Curry Hammock is part of the South Florida Birding Trail and is host to the Florida Keys Birding and Wildlife Festival. Unfortunately, water quality information for this beach is not available.
Keep your distance from other people.
Practicing social distancing is still essential. Only go to the beach if you are able to keep 6 feet or 2 meters away from others. Follow the instructions provided by your local health authorities. If your community has asked that you remain indoors and away from others, do so. Spending a day in any crowded place is the worst thing we can do for our most vulnerable right now and will counter our efforts to curb the virus’s spread.
