Hukodden is one of Oslo's most popular and finest beaches for locals and visitors alike - all year round! The beach is located on the lake top of Bygdøy, with the Hukodden beach just west and otherwise good hiking trails in the settlements and coastal and cultural landscape. The sandy beach itself is crescent shaped, with several smaller sandy beaches and bathing jetties. The swimming area has large grass area for sunbathing and ball games, and there is a kiosk, volleyball court, basketball court, outdoor shower and barbecue. There is bicycle parking, parking and a good bus connection or boat connection with Oslo city center. A visit to Folkemuseum, Vikingskipmuseet or Fram Museum, which is also at Bygdøy, can be combined with a trip to Huk.
