De Bakke beach consists of two concave sandy beaches separarted by rocky headlands. The smaller of the two sections is the swimming beach, while the larger section is popular with surfers. The rocky headlands offer some protection from waves and thus De Bakke beach is a relatively safe swimming beach. Facilities at the becah include, ablution block, open air amphitheatre, restuarant and public paking lot. The beach in close proximity to poplular municipal camping parks namely Santos Caravan Park and De Bakke chalets.
