The Waterfront Park Beach is a man-made sandy cove cut into the riverbank along the Columbia. This popular swimming beach is close to downtown and a nice place for a picnic or a cool dip on a hot day. Dogs are allowed on leash in the park but not in the beach or swim areas. There is no lifeguard on duty so swim at your own risk.
In the summer months, Columbia Riverkeeper monitors this site weekly for E.coli contamination.
Amenities: Picnic tables and shelter, restrooms, drinking fountain, walking path, playground.
Park hours 8am to sunset.
Keep your distance from other people.
Practicing social distancing is still essential. Only go to the beach if you are able to keep 6 feet or 2 meters away from others. Follow the instructions provided by your local health authorities. If your community has asked that you remain indoors and away from others, do so. Spending a day in any crowded place is the worst thing we can do for our most vulnerable right now and will counter our efforts to curb the virus’s spread.
