It is a narrow rocky beach with two accesses. The only open access way is located between 20000 and 19958 PCH. The other is located next to Moonshadows’ restaurant and 20340 Pacific Coast Highway, but has been closed for repairs due to storm damage for many years. There is very limited on-street parking, and much of it is marked with illegal “No Parking” signs posted by the residents in the public right-of-way. The rocky shores make for some excellent shore fishing, scuba diving, and kayaking. On strong south and west swells, Big Rock produces some nice surf. No Facilities.
Keep your distance from other people.
Practicing social distancing is still essential. Only go to the beach if you are able to keep 6 feet or 2 meters away from others. Follow the instructions provided by your local health authorities. If your community has asked that you remain indoors and away from others, do so. Spending a day in any crowded place is the worst thing we can do for our most vulnerable right now and will counter our efforts to curb the virus’s spread.
